Herndon, VA– Prom gowns, smiles, laughter, dancing and chocolate smudged faces were the scene at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center (Gaylord) on June 18th when Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation (NWFCU Foundation) hosted a Night of Magic ball for Children’s National Medical Center patients.
The ballroom was transformed into a fairy tale wonderland with magic carpet rides, food, games and dancing, all made possible by generous NWFCU Foundation donors, including Platinum Star Sponsors the Gaylord, Electric Entertainment LLC, DigitalMailer, Inc and Reston Limousine and Shining Star sponsors the Corus Group of Long and Foster, gam-graphics and marketing, Kevin Carter of ReMax Select Properties and Northwest Title and Escrow LLC.
The Night of Magic ball, set to coincide with prom season, allowed patients receiving ongoing care at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC the opportunity to experience a normal rite of passage for children; prom. Kids were able to spend the evening being just that; kids. “My kids expressed that this was their favorite night ever” said one parent. “I can’t express how grateful we were to see the excitement in their faces and to watch them spend the evening dancing without a care in the world.”
