CU Promotions Increase Electronic Statement Sign-ups and Save $$$

Herndon, VA – July 21, 2003 – While launching its DMIbrandcentral website for credit union clients, DigitalMailer, Inc. reported on the successful electronic statement campaigns of several of its credit union clients.

DigitalMailer’s client credit unions report that it’s not unusual for credit unions to hit a plateau once they get through the launch and initial sign-up wave of eStatement enrollments. However, several of them have refused to accept a reduced rate of sign-up and have run successful low-cost promotions to prompt their members to stop the paper and sign-up for eStatements.

According to these credit unions, monies spent on tickets to events, gift certificates, or electronic devices, have led to significant sign-ups and, importantly, annualized savings that dwarf the cost of the promotion.

Successful eStatement Promotions
Promotion Resulting Enrollments Est. Annual savings from new enrollments
Redskins tickets 353 $ 3,177
Digital camera 2,180 $19,620
Six $20 Gift Certificates 987 $ 8,883
Palm Zire 425 $ 3,825
MP3 Player 1,100 $ 9,900

"Any money spent on enrollment campaigns will be recovered by the statement and mailing cost saving on the new enrollments. Something in it for the member, always drives new enrollments," said Ron Daly, DigitalMailer’s President/CEO.

Case studies of successful programs are only part of DigitalMailer’s new DMIbrandcentral marketing services website. DigitalMailer’s clients have secure access to promotional materials such as online banners, lobby posters, brochures, and more. Credit unions can share information, advice and success stories, while searching for ideas and materials to promote electronic services to their members.

"Our DMIbrandcentral site is an extension of our service commitment to our credit unions," said Mr. Daly.
