Recently we signed up to take part in a Chili cook-off for the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation. The foundation offered attendees a bargain lunch – $5 for five cups of chili to taste and savor. Attendees got to choose between twenty-three different chilies and each contestant was judged by a panel of “Chili Experts” from the credit union, the foundation, and a local restaurant.
Our chili was the “Four Alarm Firewall”, a chili that was believed to be a little hot before we tasted the REALLY hot chili. It had corn, beef, hot peppers, beans, lots of tasty seasonings and plenty of flavor. Like our email marketing, it contained no spam (ba dum bum!).
Our chili was in the running for being the winner and featured at Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern in Herndon, but lost to “Chili-licious” in the final leg. Still, a great time was had by all, and the Northwest FCU Foundation raised $1,049.50 for the Children’s Miracle Network. A great time that benefits a great cause? What more could you ask for?
If you want the recipe to the Four Alarm Firewall Chili, you can have it…but ONLY if you sign up for our newsletter! Click here to sign up and request the recipe.
